May 2, 2000: US turns off Selective Availability on GPS satellites

May 16, 2000: Bay Area Bike to Work Day - wrote a Perl script to graph my ride

May 30, 2000: Added distance calculations to the script

August 2000: First monthly SBAY Geek Ride - every event's GPS track is saved

June 2001: Discussion with VTA light rail supervisor about how this works

July 14, 2001: Collected GPS data for the VTA light rail system

July 15, 2001: Added speed-coloring and brush width features for LRT map

August 2001: Brian offers invitation to speak at SacLUG

November 2001: GPS Ride Plot Project established at SourceForge
